Sara Hahn

Sara Hahn has been a Work and Engineering Psychology Research Group doctoral student at TU Darmstadt since June 2023. Prof. Verena Zimmermann is her Co-Supervisor. Sara earned her Bachelor's degree at TU Dresden and her Master's degree at TU Darmstadt, both in Psychology. Sara is part of the DFG-funded Research Training Group “Privacy and Trust for Mobile Users” and is actively involved in the sub-project "Elicitation and Communication of User Intentions Regarding Privacy and Trust."

Her research centers around understanding user intentions related to privacy and trust, specifically focusing on the psychological needs of mobile users. Sara's goal is to empower users to protect their privacy by investigating and designing need-sensitive Privacy Support Tools. Psychological needs are crucial in motivating users to engage with a product and have not been thoroughly explored in the context of Privacy Support Tools (PST). Additionally, Sara aims to explore the relationship between need fulfillment and trust to gain deeper insights into users' adoption of PSTs.

Sara is generally interested in integrating diverse methodological approaches in her work, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams that include psychologists, computer scientists, and legal scholars.
