JDPLS Christmas Party
The EPFL-ETHZ joint doctoral program in the learning sciences celebrated the end of a successful year in Bern including our doctoral student Adrienn Toth.

SiP Talk with Sascha Fahl
On November 25 we welcomed Prof. Sascha Fahl, Prof. Shweta Shinde and Prof. April Wang for an interesting talk and discussion on open source software. The panel discussed the advantages of open source software but also its challenges such as large effort resting on small groups of volunteers and unsolved questions of responsibility.

Science in Perspective Talk
Please join us for the #13 Science in Perspective Talk with Prof. Sascha Fahl from the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Cybersecurity who will talk about "Do we trust it TooMuch? On the Hidden Fragility of Open-Source Software". The talk takes place on 25 November at 4.15 pm in RZ F21 and is followed by an apero.
SNF project granted
The SPG group was granted funding for a project on "Navigating Safety-Security Interrelations in Critical Infrastructures" by the Swiss National Science Foundation. We are excited to start the project!
New position paper published
Adrienn Toth's and Luca M. Leisten’s position paper on hands-on learning to support AI literacy across all ages is out! They illustrate how this could look using social robots and intelligent tutoring systems as use cases.

Noé Zufferey was consulted by the Swiss newspaper "Le Temps"
Noé Zufferey was consulted by the Swiss newspaper "Le Temps" for an article and a short video about the European law proposal known as “Chat Control”. He highlights the privacy risks associated with such a regulation, which do not comply with fundamental human rights to privacy. As a reminder, a backdoor for the police is also a backdoor for criminals.

Poster Presentation in Behavioural Studies Colloquium
We kicked off the Fall Behavioral Studies Colloquium with an engaging poster session, organised by Lorin Schöni and hosted by our group. Interns and team members showcased their research topics and exchanged ideas on current directions with colleagues from different groups. It was a fantastic and inspiring start to the semester, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going.
