Human Cybersecurity Behavior

Measuring cybersecurity is a challenging task. And it becomes even more challenging when not only technical but human aspects are involved, such as cybersecurity behaviour. Previous research on measuring human factors in cybersecurity has produced a set of specific scales asking for security attitudes or intentions. Yet, measuring cybersecurity behaviour remains an open research question especially as cybersecurity behaviour is not always observable (i.e. it is often deliberately secret to prevent attacks). To develop a measurement tool for cybersecurity awareness and behaviour, we partner with security researchers at ZHAW (Prof. Nico Ebert, Dr. Tim Geppert and Dr. Benjamin Ambuehl) and UZH (Dr. Melanie Knieps) within the project external pageCYREN.
