Lorin Schöni

Lorin Schöni is a PhD candidate in the group of Security, Privacy and Society since October 2022. He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Psychology at the University of Zurich, specializing in Cognitive Neuroscience, Human-computer Interactions, and the use of Digital Technologies in Psychology.

Lorin’s interests lie in combining psychological concepts and technology to address emerging challenges and opportunities arising from ever-increasing digitalization. To that end, he analyzes the interaction of human behavior and design decisions through established psychological models. The goal of this research is to make security and privacy more human-centered, as well as finding novel ideas for secure, privacy-friendly, and usable systems.
