Hannah Sievers

Hannah Sievers has been a doctoral student in the Security, Privacy and Society group since April 2025. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master's degree in psychology from the University of Zurich, with a specialization in cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, and statistics. During her master’s degree, she began working as a student assistant in the group, which further heightened her enthusiasm for human-centered security.
Due to her background in psychology, she developed a particular interest in the topic of cybersecurity awareness. On April 1st, 2025, Hannah started as a doctoral student at the SPG group. In her research, she focuses on determining the prevailing cybersecurity culture within organizations and identifying measures to improve it accordingly, with the aim of fostering employee awareness. The goal of her project is to understand which factors impact an organization's cybersecurity culture, how these can be integrated into an applicable assessment instrument, and which measures can be derived to ultimately strengthen an organization’s cybersecurity culture. To this end, she employs both qualitative and quantitative methods and is interested in an interdisciplinary exchange with experts, gaining diverse perspectives, as well as fostering close collaboration with industry stakeholders.
